Privacy Policy

This page lays out what data we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and when it might be shared with others. Using any page on this website means you accept the practices described here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers automatically receive limited technical information about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure page use, traffic, and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

We do not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of personal court records. Our content identifies where Thurston County dockets are kept and how official records may be requested from the County Clerk, District Court, municipal courts, or Washington search systems. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into reports about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Thurston County Clerk, trial courts, Washington case-search systems, legal-aid resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. Their own systems perform that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service is completely secure, so protection against every breach cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Washington privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights in addition to those stated here. Washington GR 31 and GR 22 govern access and privacy for court case records, while the Washington Public Records Act applies to qualifying government administrative records. Those laws do not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. At a minimum, you can:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This privacy policy may be revised. A new version will be posted with an updated effective date so visitors can review the current practices.

Effective date: September 7, 2026
